He is a naval architect benefiting from hands-on experience on racing multihulls & monohulls. As foredeck crew on Géant, the ORMA60 trimaran helmed by Michel Desjoyeaux and a trimmer on Frank Cammas highly successful Groupama, Renaud has been able to fully comprehend – in the aggressive environment of multihull & monohull racing – the direct implications of design choices.He gained his experience in yacht design by being actively involved amongst other, in the design of the America’s Cup winner BMW Oracle, the maxi trimaran Banque Populaire V, Groupama 2 and 3, many Orma 60 and Imoca 60, and the high performance racer-cruiser SIG45, a sleek looking fast sailing catamaran.
Renaud is also teacher-researcher at the Higher National School of Architecture in Nantes and Montpellier – France –
